start our Bunkunay Tayrona experience towards the Calabazo area, where we will begin a 2-hour ecological hike. During this hike, we will discover the fauna, flora, and history of the Tayrona people, as well as the four descendant communities that still inhabit the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Our destination is the Bunkunay Tayrona terraces, where we will have the opportunity to learn all about this civilization and appreciate the magnificent stone work that this tribe used to perform. These terraces were interconnected by paths, each serving a specific function and hierarchy. In this place, we will enjoy a typical regional lunch, accompanied by a lot of history and unique landscapes of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. After lunch, we will begin our return journey, making a technical stop at one of the magnificent waterfalls before continuing the way back.

Its name is related to the stones with which its terraces were built and some rock carvings that have been found. These seem to tell a story to those who visit this place, as if they were speaking to us. Bunkunay Tayrona, the “place of the talking stones.”
Although the archaeological complex of Bunkunay Tayrona is less extensive than that of Ciudad Perdida, it has quite large terraces, and just like Ciudad Perdida or Teyuna, “The second Lost City,” it has several streams and rivers nearby, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing swim while touring Bunkunay.
