Day Trip

7:00 am: We start our experience to the Tayku Indigenous Community by heading to the village of Calabazo. Here, we will embark on a 20-minute 4×4 vehicle journey to the Kogui Tayku indigenous village, where a local guide will be waiting for us.

This guide will lead us through their village to immerse us in their culture, including their dwellings, clothing, ceremonial houses, and traditions. During this visit, we will also have the opportunity to meet the Mamo, who is the highest authority in this community. The Mamo will provide us with a deeper understanding of their way of thinking, their care for Mother Nature, their agricultural practices, and more.

After this cultural immersion, we continue our journey to Mendihuaca Beach, where we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and have the chance to spend the afternoon at the beach and by the river.

4:00 p.m.: Return to Santa Marta, concluding our Tayku Indigenous Community experience.
