Bunkuany Tayrona 3 Days<\/a><\/h3>\n

During your 3-day journey to Bunkuany Tayrona in the Sierra Nevada, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and history of the indigenous communities such as Arhuaco, Kogui<\/a>, Tayrona, Wiwa, and Kankuamo, who have inhabited these lands for centuries and play a fundamental role in the preservation of this unique ecosystem. You will also explore the rich flora and fauna in this area, with the possibility of spotting endemic species and enjoying the lush tropical jungle.<\/p>\n

Our highly trained local guides will be at your disposal to provide you with an enriching and safe experience. From exciting hikes on natural trails to interacting with the traditions of the indigenous communities, we are confident that your visit to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta will be unforgettable. The name “Bunkuany” is related to the stones used in the construction of its terraces and some rock carvings that have been found. These seem to tell a story to those who visit this place, as if they were speaking to us. Bunkuany, the “place of the talking stones.”<\/p>\n

Although the archaeological complex of Bunkuany is less extensive than that of Ciudad Perdida, it boasts fairly large terraces. Similar to Ciudad Perdida or Teyuna, the “second Lost City,” it is surrounded by several streams and rivers, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing swim during the Bunkuany tour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Bunkuany Tayrona 3 Days<\/h3>\n

Day 1<\/h3>\n

7:00 a.m.: Departure from your hotel in Rodadero, Taganga, or Santa Marta, heading to the village of Lisa, where we will have the opportunity to explore the Donama Stones, an interesting site. We will then continue with a 25-minute 4×4 vehicle ride to a place known as El Boquer\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

9:30 a.m.: We’ll start a 30-minute hike to reach a viewpoint from where you can appreciate the city of Santa Marta and the surrounding region. Here, we will enjoy a delicious coffee and a snack provided by Mrs. Marelbis. 10:45 a.m.: We will begin the descent to visit a traditional farm in the region. Afterward, we’ll continue descending until we reach the Enredadera Pool, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.<\/p>\n

12:30 p.m.: We’ll take a 15-minute walk to reach Bunkuany, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch.<\/p>\n

2:00 p.m.: We’ll start a tour of the different terraces, where you can learn about the ancestral history of the region. We will ascend to the highest terrace, where you can rest and practice yoga to feel the peace that the place conveys.<\/p>\n

5:00 p.m.: We will start the return journey, which will take about 15 minutes to reach our hotel. Here, we will have dinner and spend the night surrounded by terraces and Tayrona culture.<\/p>\n

Day 2<\/h3>\n

8:00 a.m.: We will begin a 1-hour hike during which you can discover the region’s fauna and flora. We will arrive at the Piedra River, where you’ll have the opportunity to take a refreshing bath.<\/p>\n

After enjoying the Piedra River, we will continue the hike for about 1 hour to reach the village of Calabazo, where we will have a delicious lunch.<\/p>\n

1:00 p.m.: After lunch, we’ll take a 15-minute motorcycle ride to the indigenous village of Tayku. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about the Kogui culture, visiting their ceremonial houses and interacting with the Mamo, the tribe’s highest authority. During this tour, you’ll also learn about how they cultivate the land and gain more insight into their ancestral culture.<\/p>\n

After the visit to the indigenous village of Tayku<\/p>\n

Day 3<\/h3>\n

8:00 a.m.: We will start the day with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m.: We will begin a 1-hour and 30-minute hike to the magnificent beaches of Cabo San Juan in Tayrona National Park.<\/p>\n

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy stunning views and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n

12:00 p.m.: We will start a 25-minute hike to reach the beach known as La Piscina in Tayrona National Park. In this place, we will enjoy lunch, and you’ll have the afternoon free to swim and relax on this tranquil beach.<\/p>\n

2:30 p.m.: We will start a 1-hour and 30-minute hike back, passing by the different beaches of Tayrona National Park, such as Arenilla and Arrecife. During this journey, you can enjoy the diverse landscapes, fauna, and flora that inhabit this protected territory.<\/p>\n

4:00 p.m.: We will start the return to your hotel.<\/p>\n
